We have seen in previous post that colors can be classified into warm and cold colors, with cool colors, blues, greens and violets. In general, producing a sense of calm and tranquility, an effect of estrangement, distancing, so they are widely used in small rooms, or want to conceal a very narrow space, such as a hallway. Used alone can give a room a little privacy and effect of sadness that is the case in this room, which to me looks like a little cold and impersonal. The designer Kim Pimlico Gilhool uses a palette of cool colors and neutrals to create a calm and relaxed, which along with the dim light coming through the windows invites you to relax or enjoy reading.

The nautical theme has inspired Foley and Cox to decorate this room and obviously the colors chosen are within the range of blues, ranging from blue to lilac to near black. Beautiful lamps are ship lanterns.

For the overall look more lively, small yellow details make the difference.

A very elegant dining room in shades of green, which are accented with white, published in Elle Decor, Interior by Jamie Drake. The gold details give the contrast needed to remove the monotony, turquoise vessels (also a cool color) stand out without breaking the harmony so well achieved.
